New York Times Admits the Media is BIASED About the Virus Threat at Protests

An article published by the New York Times appears to throw the hypocrisy of the media — as well as many “credible” public health experts — wide open for all to see.

If you were born more than three months ago, you remember when pundits in the media were crucifying anyone who left their homes for whatever reason. People who took their children to the park, walked their dogs, or even had a friend or two over were complicit in mass death.

State lockdowns continued to worsen as the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus spiked across the United States. Inevitably, there were those who resisted. Anti-lockdown protesters made headlines when they demonstrated in front of state capitols, often carrying legal firearms. Public health experts slammed these protests as unsafe, and warned that they could be catalyzing the spread of the deadliest disease in modern history (it’s not, but we’ve never done anything like this before, have we?)

We’re just going to drop a quick side bar: approximately zero of these demonstrations resulted in the the destruction of property or altercations with police.

As Powell notes in his piece, “Are Protests Dangerous?”, all of this changed after George Floyd was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis. Suddenly, the streets of every major city in the country were packed with hundreds and sometimes thousands of people protesting for police reform. Now, the so-called “experts” are admitting that they have trouble explaining why they’re completely fine with one type of protest, but are disgusted by another.

“I certainly condemned the anti-lockdown protests at the time, and I’m not condemning the protests now, and I struggle with that,” University of Texas Health Science Center researcher Catherine Troisi said in the piece. “I have a hard time articulating why that is OK.”

Powell’s piece goes on to cite similar statements from other researchers and public health authorities. This likely wasn’t the intention by the New York Times, but it underscores how this sanctified class of people really don’t have an answer to why some protests are okay and why others are not.

This should go without saying, but we feel the need to say it anyway: COVID-19 isn’t racist. It doesn’t discriminate. If you catch the virus, it won’t spare you because you have a “woke” worldview. Actually, between 30 and 40 percent of the time, you won’t even know you have it.

Here’s Tim Pool digging deeper into this crazy article — so you don’t have to.
