Chinese virologist Li-Meng Yan has fled Hong Kong after telling several media outlets that the communist government in Beijing released the novel coronavirus on the world intentionally.
The pro-lockdown media is already making a full-time job of disparaging Yan, with left-wing “fact-checker” Snopes referring to her as “the controversial doctor.” However, this doesn’t appear to be deterring the researcher from getting her message out.
“I work[ed] in the WHO reference lab, which is the top coronavirus lab in the world, in the University of Hong Kong. And the thing is I get deeply into such investigation in secret from the early beginning of this outbreak. I had my intelligence because I also get my own unit network in China, involved [in] the hospital … also I work with the top corona[virus] virologist in the world,” she told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“So, together with my experience, I can tell you, this is created in the lab … and also, it is spread to the world to make such damage,” she added.
If the allegations are true, the evils of the Chinese government cannot be understated. Then again, we don’t need this to be true to make that assessment. The government in Beijing has already green-lit a de facto genocide of China’s Uyghurs, a Muslim ethnic group living in the country. Taking this into account, the idea that Chinese communists intentionally released a virus onto the world with the intent on crashing the global economy isn’t much of a stretch.
The University of Hong Kong, which used to employ Yan, is disputing her claims.
“Specifically, Dr Yan never conducted any research on human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus at [the University of Hong Kong] during December 2019 and January 2020, her central assertion of the said interview,” the university said in a press release.
