The Real Cause of Cavities and Tooth Decay

Are you struggling with bad breath, tooth decay, or cavities? Millions of people are in the same boat. Modern dentistry is a multi-million dollar business that depends on your continued suffering. If you thought adding more fluoride will help prevent cavities, you’ve been lead down the wrong road by a lie.

Fluoride does not prevent cavities, it causes them.

Once you know the true cause of dental problems, you can regain control of your dental health and avoid painful dental work.

The Real Cause of Cavities and Tooth Decay

  • Processed-Food Diet

No matter what type of disease you may be suffering from it all comes down to diet. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is filled with refined flours and sugars that slowly rot your teeth right out of your head. You can brush and floss five times a day if you wanted to and it still would not be able to compete with the damage you’re doing to your teeth with the food you’re eating. Soda drinkers, the high fructose corn syrup (or aspartame) it contains is not only damaging your teeth while it’s in your mouth, it’s also destroying your healthy gut bacteria, encouraging tooth decay and cavities.

  • Low Gut Bacteria

Low gut bacteria is a problem of epidemic proportions yet few conventional doctors ever talk about it. Sure, you might hear about balancing your digestive system with a special yogurt, but what you don’t know about that yogurt is it’s filled with synthetic sugars that further worsen dental problems. Critically-low levels of good bacteria causes bad bacteria and yeast to grow out of control, which leads to a myriad of health problems, including gingivitis, tooth decay, and cavities.

  • Food Intolerance

Though the term “gluten intolerance” has become more mainstream in the past 5 years or so, most conventional dentists still don’t make the connection between this common chronic condition and dental problems. Gluten is a sticky protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. It is estimated that 1 in every 100 people are unable to adequately digest this protein.

According to scientific research, when a person with gluten intolerance ingests this protein, it destroys a protein responsible for making tooth enamel. This leaves you vulnerable for developing soft teeth, excessive tooth wear and tear, dental cavities, and tooth loss.

Continued ingestion of gluten in an intolerant person can lead to destruction of healthy gut flora, which causes worsening of dental problems and overall health. Other oral symptoms of gluten intolerance include canker sores, excessive mucus production, bad breath, metallic taste in the mouth, and inflammatory gum disease.

  • Chronic Candida

Candida is a type of yeast that occurs naturally in the digestive tract and genitals. In small amounts, this yeast is completely harmless and can actually be beneficial to your body. However, when this yeast grows out of control, it can wreck havoc with your overall health. Studies have indicated that 69% of children with cavities are infected with an overgrowth of candida yeast. Yeast overgrowth is caused by a combination of overuse of antibiotics, a diet high in refined foods, birth control pills, NSAID pain relievers, and heavy alcohol use.

  • Fluoride Exposure

One of the hardest truths to convince people of is this: Fluoride exposure causes cavities, it doesn’t prevent them. For example, West Virginia and Kentucky has the highest level of water fluoridation and the highest incidents of tooth decay, dental cavities, and tooth loss. Hawaii and California, on the other hand, has the least amount of water fluoridation and, in turn, the least amount of dental problems.

How to Prevent Cavities and Tooth Decay

  • Dietary Changes

To prevent tooth decay, gingivitis, and cavities, it is imperative that you clean up your diet. Highly processed junk food is filled with preservatives, additives, and synthetic sugars that lower your healthy gut flora, damage your teeth, and encourage the growth of candida yeast.

Therefore, in order to prevent the development of unhealthy dental conditions as well as other health problems, you must clean up your diet. Eating a diet rich in organic vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, grass-fed beef, organic poultry, wild-caught fish, eggs, and healthy fats like butter and coconut oil can do wonders to improve your overall health and prevent oral disease.

A word of caution, however. It’s never advisable to simply give up junk food cold turkey, especially if that’s been the basis of your diet for years or even decades. Junk food is a drug and if you suddenly stop eating it, you will experience serious withdrawal.

Instead, become a label-reader and do your research. Start by familiarizing yourself with the ingredients contained in the food you eat everyday and the health problems those ingredients are associated with.

Next, slowly incorporate more whole, nutrient-rich food into your diet. Give up soda and drink more water. Trade your cookies in for fruit. Invest in more organic foods. Eventually, eating a healthier diet will become your new way of life and you won’t have to think about it anymore.

  • Probiotics

Low gut bacteria leads to poor digestion, weak immune system function, chronic inflammation, and candida overgrowth. Adding a high-quality probiotic supplement to your diet can help balance your gut bacteria and prevent tooth decay. Be sure that any probiotic supplement you invest in contains at least 3-5 billion colony forming units (CFUs) and contains as few additives as possible.

  • Food Allergy Elimination Diet

Blood tests for gluten intolerance are often inaccurate and give a false negative. This is why, in order to successfully test for gluten intolerance, you should try an elimination diet. Eliminate all traces of gluten from your diet for 6-8 weeks to see if symptoms improve. Oftentimes, unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms, muscle pain, and brain fog will dissipate on the gluten free diet and you’ll feel better than you have in years.

  • Coconut Oil

Raw, unprocessed coconut oil is a powerful antibiotic, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral. It can help prevent tooth decay from the inside out when you consume it regularly. In addition to consuming coconut oil, you can also try a technique called ‘oil pulling’. Oil pulling involves swishing oil in the mouth to pull toxins from the body and cleanse the teeth and gums.

  • Fluoride Elimination

Fluoride has not only been linked to the development of cavities, it has also been linked to neurological disorders and autoimmune disease. You can eliminate two major sources of fluoride from your life by investing in a water filtration system for your home and making your own toothpaste. A mixture of coconut oil, clove oil, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda make an excellent and inexpensive natural toothpaste.

If you never knew the true cause of cavities, you’re not alone. The dental industry spends millions of dollars pushing fluoride treatments and pushing the real truth under the rug. Now that you’re not in the dark anymore, you can protect your health and that of your family.

Spread the word.

I’d love to be able to buy tooth whitening kits or have my dentist brighten my teeth for me, but both are so darn expensive.

I even looked online for all natural ways to whiten my teeth. I found a bunch of information but everything I tried made my teeth sensitive to hot and cold.

When I read the e-book Teeth Whitening Secrets I was skeptical. I thought, “Oh boy, none of this stuff will work on me. And even if it does it will make my teeth really sensitive.”

So when I started reading his research and trying out his teeth whitening all natural treatments I was ecstatic to find something that finally worked. No more stained, yellow teeth and no more pain when I drink hot or cold beverages. Simply put I was amazed!
