Sugar Lies – The Secret Poison on Your Breakfast Table

Are you confused about sugar and sugar substitutes? You’re not alone. With so much conflicting information out there about what’s good for your health and what isn’t, it’s a small wonder any of us know what to eat anymore.

Here at Health Scams Exposed, we understand your frustration, which is why we’re here to explain the sugar scam and give you a breakdown of the worst (and the best) sweetener substitutes on the market today so you can make a more informed decision about your health.

Table Sugar is Terrible for You

If you’ve cut table sugar out of your life, you made an excellent decision. Table sugar is horrible for you. Sure, the sugar cane plant starts out innocently enough. Unfortunately, the refining process strips away any of the health benefits your body may have been able to receive from it. Not only does the refinement process kill these nutrients, it chemically alters the cane, turning it into a foreign substance your body has to fight desperately to digest.

Here’s how it’s made:

Machines harvest the sugar cane where it is washed, cut, shredded, and pressed for juice. This juice is then heated and chemically-treated to remove impurities. This chemical concoction is then dumped into a vat where it is heated to evaporate water content.

What used to be sugar is now a thick paste that gets tumbled around a centrifuge machine to turn it into crystals. These crystals are boiled again, treated with bleach and filtered through a substance called bone char, (which is a powder made from pig or cow’s bones). It is then centrifuged again, cooled, packaged, and sold.

If you’re still using refined table sugar, you are actually sweetening your coffee or cereal with cow bones and bleach. Not very appetizing is it? Also, it’s certainly not very healthy. Once raw sugar has been processed to the crystalline substance on your breakfast table, it has the potential to do some serious damage to your health.

This concoction of chemicals has zero nutritional value and causes an acid environment in the stomach. This acid environment leeches the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your body needs to be healthy. A highly acidic stomach environment leads to almost every single disease on the planet ranging from diabetes to cancer.

Sugar Substitutes are Much Worse

Because of how terrible table sugar is for you, many health enthusiasts have banned it from their diets. Because of this, corporations have seized on this opportunity to push sugar substitutes as so-called “healthy alternatives”.

They are anything but.

Your Sweet Poison Options

  1. High Fructose Corn Syrup

You’ve probably heard the debate by now about high fructose corn syrup. It’s just as bad for you, if not worse, than refined table sugar. This complex, genetically-modified sugar substitute is metabolized into fat by your body faster than any other type of sweetener. The negative metabolic effects of this sweetener are staggering. High fructose corn syrup has been scientifically-proven to cause constant food cravings, obesity, and diabetes.

In the 1970s, when this sugar substitute was first introduced, most people got their calories from meat and grains. Now, studies have shown the number 1 source of calories among Americans is high fructose corn syrup! This is directly related to the excessive amount of soda consumed by the general population. If you’re drinking soda right now, this is the reason you’re having so much trouble losing weight and getting rid of belly bloat.

  1. Aspartame (NutraSweet or Equal)

If you’ve ever suffered from strange neurological problems, food allergies, thyroid disease, and headaches, you may be suffering from aspartame poisoning. Aspartame poisoning is something your doctor will never tell you about no matter what kind of mystery symptoms you’re struggling with. But here at Health Scams Exposed, we want you to know the truth.

Aspartame is a completely synthetic sweetener that was first designed for use as an ant poison in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Once it was discovered how cheaply it could be made and how sweet it tasted (it’s 200 times sweeter than table sugar), it became a money-saving goldmine touted as a “no-calorie” sweetener you could still indulge in without adding to your waistline. Aspartame is anything but safe. It’s made from a disturbing combination of aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol.

Aspartic acid is considered an ‘excitotoxin’, which over-stimulates the neural cells to the point of death. Over 75% of these neural cells must be destroyed before symptoms are felt or noticed. This means that once you develop multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, memory loss, brain lesions or epilepsy from consuming this toxic sweetener, it’s already way too late to reverse the damage.

Phenylalanine is an amino acid found naturally in the brain. However, consumption of aspartame raises phenylalanine to unsafe levels and has been shown to cause irreversible brain damage that may lead to schizophrenia and seizures.

Methanol is a wood alcohol that has a highly toxic cumulative effect on the body. Over time, this poison cause symptoms such as gastrointestinal problems, neurological disturbances, autoimmune disease, behavioral problems, weakness, memory lapses, and vision problems.

  1. Sucralose (Splenda)

When we saw the first commercial for the latest ‘no-calorie sweetener’, Splenda, we were immediately skeptical. Supposedly, it’s a no-calorie sweetener that’s “made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar”.

It seems that since consumers were suddenly getting wise about the dangers of high fructose corn syrup and aspartame, artificial sweetener corporations have had to take immediate action in order to save their profits. (We figured this must be one of the primary reasons ‘Splenda’ was created).

Well, here’s the real truth about the sweetener you can find in that little yellow box: It’s chlorine. You’re eating chlorine. Splenda is formed by taking hydroxyl groups in the sugar molecule and replacing it with chlorine molecules. It is absolutely no different than the chlorine you would find in your swimming pool.

Splenda has never been tested on humans for safety even though the FDA has approved it fit for human consumption. What? Read that again. Splenda has never been tested on humans for safety even though the FDA has approved it fit for human consumption.

Seriously?

If it’s never been tested for safety yet it’s been approved, what is the point of the Food and Drug Administration?

Just like any other type of artificial sweetener, they are chemicals that your body does not recognize as food. If you put a substance in your body that it doesn’t recognize as food, your immune system will see it as a threat and attack. If you eat Splenda on a regular basis, you’re immune system is always going to be in an over-reactive state as it desperately tries to defend you from the poison you continue to eat.

Eventually, your immune system weakens and breaks down, leading to the development of autoimmune disease, neurological disturbances, and even cancer.

  1. Saccharine (Sweet’N Low)

This highly-unstable chemical compound is often used because it does not interact with other food ingredients, making a successful and cheap preservative. Scientific studies done in the 1970s proved that Sweet’N Low caused bladder cancer in rats. There was even a warning placed on the package (but they removed it in the year 2000 when sales began to plummet).

Not only is saccharine a carcinogenic that has been linked to the development of bladder, uterine, blood, and skin cancer, it also has been linked to the development of diabetes.

When this artificial sweetener touches your tongue, it provokes an insulin response. However, since there is no actual glucose to power up the cells, you’ll have all this extra insulin pumping through your veins for no reason. Chronically-high levels of insulin greatly increase your risk of developing metabolic syndrome and diabetes.

  1. Acesulfame Potassium (Sunette or Sweet One)

You may not have heard much about this particular sweetener because it’s not as popular as it used to be. However, it is no safer for you than aspartame or saccharine. Acesulfame potassium, also referred to as “Ace-K” for short, (sounds like a rap star), is a known carcinogen that is often found in soft drinks. This chemical killer has been also linked to symptoms such as headaches, neurological disturbances, kidney damage, liver damage, depression, and gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Protect Your Health with Safer Sweeteners

Basically, our motto at Health Scams Exposed is if it’s artificial, don’t consume it. If you still want to add a little sweetener to your morning tea or oatmeal, try these safe, natural alternatives to slowly poisoning yourself to death:

  1. Stevia

Stevia is made from a plant in the sunflower family. This plant is native to North and South America and is among the safest sweeteners you can consume. Unlike chemical sugar substitutes, this one is all-natural. It has a low glycemic index and has been proven to lower both blood sugar and blood pressure. Stevia also aids in calcium formation and has strong oral antibacterial properties, which is why it is often an added ingredient in organic toothpastes.

  1. Organic Honey

Another healthy alternative to synthetic sugar substitutes is organic honey. Honey not only tastes sweet when mixed in cereal and tea, it is also very beneficial to your health. Organic honey boosts your energy levels naturally, helps you stave off colds and flu, and may even prevent the development of cancer.

  1. Maple Syrup

Pure maple syrup is 100% pure and all-natural. There is no processing involved in the making of this tried-and-true sweetener. It’s not only delicious over pancakes; it’s excellent for your health. It contains antioxidants called polyphenols that have been proven to fight the inflammation of arthritis and other chronic pain conditions. Alternatively, you can use maple sugar in place of refined table sugar or dangerous sugar substitutes.

  1. Date Sugar

The best thing about date sugar is there is only one ingredient: Dates. This all-natural sweetener is good for your health because it is an excellent source of fiber and essential minerals like iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, and selenium. You can replace one cup of refined, processed sugar with 2/3 cup of date sugar in any recipe.

  1. Organic Raw Sugar

If you enjoy the taste of table sugar, you can still eat it; it just has to be raw to be of any benefit to your health. Organic raw cane sugar is minimally processed and a much healthier alternative to some of the dangerous sweetener substitutes on the market. Organic sugar also retains its natural nutrients, which can be of great benefit to your health.

If you’ve been eating sweet poison sugar substitutes for years or even decades, don’t despair. Cut them out of your diet now and cleanse your body of all toxins. Then, switch to healthier alternatives as part of a whole-food diet.

Even if some damage has been done, your body has a remarkable ability to heal itself and will do so if you allow it. In a few months, you may find that the unusual symptoms you’ve always thought were normal will just disappear!

  7. Any of the sugar substitutes will give me meanirigs. In the context of schools, kids, and sugar it’s nearly impossible to keep kids to any sort of dietary restriction (short of one that will kill them outright such as a peanut allergy) in today’s schools. There’s always someone in class with a birthday, there’s all the junk available at lunch not just from the school but from kids who bring lunches and trade your kids for garbage food. That’s the way it is. Unless you want to home school and be a food nazi I don’t see how you’ll keep kids from eating sugar it’s too much a part of everything. Therefore, unless you plan on being a helicopter parent or you can make your child think the way you do or your kid just outright dislikes sweets your child will be ingesting sugar and sweeteners in all their various forms.

  8. Howdy! Would you mind if I share your blog with my zynga group? There’s a lot of people that I think would really enjoy your content. Please let me know. Many thanks
