Big social media and other tech companies like Google and Twitter have been taking direction from federal regulators and intelligence agencies for a long time. It’s never been a secret, in truth. But they haven’t exactly been knocking on our doors telling us that the government takes “metadata” from these companies and uses it to gather intelligence on American citizens.
Now that a number of whistle-blowers like Edward Snowden have come to the surface, it’s generally accepted that everything which takes place around any computing device is being recorded unless the user takes special measures to prevent it.
Now, Facebook is openly and actively taking direction from politically partisan actors. The latest example is Congressman Adam Schiff, the stridently left-wing Democratic representative from California has instructed Facebook to actively censor any content or material that challenges the notion that vaccines are 100% safe and effective.
He sent a letter to Facebook which contained a “strong advisory” about how to treat content that is critical of vaccines.
Schiff wrote, “There is strong evidence to suggest that at least part of the source of this trend is the degree to which medically inaccurate information about vaccines surface on the websites where many Americans get their information.”
He blames the recent measles outbreak on false information regarding vaccines, adding, “The algorithms which power these services are not designed to distinguish quality information from misinformation or misleading information, and the consequences of that are particularly troubling for public health issues.”
Naturally, he is correct. It is nearly impossible for an algorithm to distinguish between information that is based on valid research and material based on the big-tobacco-style science we get from big pharma and from government organizations like the CDC- which has an established history of obfuscating the risks of vaccines.
As it stands, big tech companies tell their users that the way they decide to show certain content to certain users is by algorithm. But this is only partially true. The whole truth is that algorithms help to show users content based on their user history. But at the same time, active moderators monitor content and control the visibility of posts and uploads.
Here at HealthScamsExposed.com, we have examined much of the literature which casts doubt on the safety and overreach of vaccines. In our opinion, much of it is extremely convincing. For example, most available vaccines contain the most powerful neurotoxin known to man- mercury. That alone should be enough to recall every vaccine containing that poisonous substance.
The fact that vaccines contain known poisons is well-established. There is nothing anyone can do to disprove it or to claim that mercury is harmless. Nevertheless, Facebook has responded positively to Schiff’s admonition. They have said that they are “exploring additional measures to best combat the problem.”
So what measures are they using? Are they writing algorithms that perform their own research and scientifically test the claims made by vaccine critical materials? Or are they simply directing their moderators to take down posts that contain vaccine critical claims?
If you said, they are directing their moderators to take down posts that contain vaccine critical claims- you’re correct.
In fact, while Facebook says they are just “exploring additional measures to best combat the problem,” but anti-vaccine posts have been getting taken down with extreme rapidity since Schiff told the social media company to do so.
In other words, there has been no attempt made to look into the factual validity of vaccine critical postings. They are simply taking them down summarily.
The danger here is that this supposedly unbiased social media company is pro-actively doing the bidding of politicians. A congressional representative is not a law enforcement officer. He has no business telling a supposedly private telecommunications company what they should or should not be doing with the private communications of their users.
The people at Facebook are under no obligation to obey Adam Schiff. Schiff is not a member of the executive branch. He’s not a sheriff’s deputy. Schiff is not a scientist. He is not a medical researcher of any sort. Nevertheless, Facebook feels the need to obey his commands.
The situation is this, we have a hyper partisan member of the House of Representatives giving orders to a supposedly private media company regarding what you can see online and what you cannot.
That is a direct insult to Democracy.
