Under the determined leadership of President Donald Trump, experts across industries were assembled to form the Operation Warp Speed task force and millions of American lives have been saved.
The question everyday people might want to consider is whether our valued parents, grandparents and loved ones with underlying conditions would have contracted COVID-19 and lost their lives if another president were at the helm. Early models predicted millions of Americans would die from the China virus.
“When they used those numbers to model the epidemic in the US and Great Britain, they predicted that about 2.2 million people in the U.S. and 510,000 people in Great Britain would die without policies to slow the spread,” according to a report published by Business Insider. “Those numbers aren’t as relevant anymore, though, since most countries did adopt physical-distancing measures.”
Some argued that number could be on the low side given that the influenza pandemic of 1917-18 killed 50 million people. Another caveat the mainstream media no longer wants to talk about is the fact that the vaccines already immunizing Americans were created and distributed faster than any other in the history of science.
“It didn’t feel any different from taking any other vaccine,” Sandra Lindsay, a critical care nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, reportedly said after becoming the first American vaccinated. “I would like to thank all the frontline workers, all my colleagues who’ve been willing to fight this pandemic, all over the world. I feel hopeful today, relieved. I hope this marks the beginning of the end of a very painful time in our history.”
Approximately 2.9 million doses went out on December, 14 with millions more to follow on their heels. Upwards of 40 million inoculations are expected before the new year. In effect, President Trump has seemingly done the impossible by using his executive powers to slow the spread, tap Big Pharma to create early therapeutics, and develop a vaccine in under one year.
“First Vaccine Administered,” Trump tweeted. “Congratulations USA! Congratulations WORLD!”
Getting to this juncture marks a historic accomplishment. What makes it even more impressive is that the White House fought an uphill battle against Democrat governors who undermined the process, and pushed unlawful lockdowns that cost the country unnecessary loss of life and livelihoods.
During the first wave of the pandemic, Trump leveraged the Defense Production Act of 1950 and forced companies to promptly produce hand sanitizers and masks. The news that some resisted the mandate stunned patriots. Outfits such as 3M reportedly shipped life-saving masks to China until the administration cracked down.
“We hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks,” the President said. “P Act” all the way. Big surprise to many in government as to what they were doing – will have a big price to pay!”
General Motors reportedly resisted the call to save American lives until the corporation received a $489 million government contract to produce ventilators. Adding insult to injury, GM was the recipient of an Obama-era bailout.
As the economy ramps back up and optimism spreads that the worst will soon be behind us, it’s essential to remember how America fought through what could have been the most lethal pandemic in history. It was President Trump that powered the county through, and Democrats who resisted and obstructed.
