  • Taurine

This sulfur-containing amino acid has been known to improve fat metabolism when consumed in small doses such as 100 milligrams per day. However, energy drinks contain over 1,000 milligrams, which can cause serious side effects.

Taurine, despite the fact that it’s in an energy drink, actually acts as a sedative in the body.
