Google Censoring Natural Health Sites: CONFIRMED

When governments push censorship, they do it under the guise of protecting the innocent and the vulnerable. No one person or one ideology has all the answers, however. Which means censorship invariably leads to harm. But when a public media company is subsidized by a government and engages in covert censorship the toll is much worse.

In today’s digital age, it’s hard to know when you’re being kept from information that might help you. There’s no cordoned off building that can be spotted from a distance, no yellow tape, no pillar of smoke rising from a pile of burning books—just silence and sameness.

With the rise of information technology, people have been able to learn things about health and wellness that were impossible before. Small study groups are able to conduct scientific research and get the word out to the public. Other groups can repeat their work and refute or verify it.

But Google is arguably the most influential corporation on Earth, and they are being tasked by government subsidy programs to limit the visibility of medical claims that contradict mainstream science.

In recent years, it’s been proven time and time again that Google censors material it doesn’t approve of. Libertarian and conservative commentators were the first to complain about having their visibility squashed by Google and other Silicon Valley titans like Facebook and Twitter. Unfortunately, few listened to them. Now, the censorship is much more blatant.

Google recently announced openly that they have been making sites they don’t like disappear entirely- wiping them off the web without warning or explanation. Not only that, but the company has stated that they are going to delete material non-grata even more aggressively.

In their latest memo, a 160-page handbook detailing ways they intend to enforce mainstream thinking, Google execs indicated they would restrict access to:

[…] pages that directly contradict well established scientific or medical consensus for queries seeking scientific or medical information, unless the query indicates the user is seeking an alternative viewpoint.”

and

[…] pages that directly contradict well-established historical facts, unless the query clearly indicates the user is seeking an alternative viewpoint.”

These statements of intent may not seem disturbing to anyone who attended more than a few years of public indoctrination school, but the fact is history has shown us again and again that today’s “well-established fact” is tomorrow’s bygone myth.

By forbidding the public to publish alternative ideas, we may be permanently stuck in a pre-Galilean world- where the Earth remains forever flat according to “well-established facts.”

Google maintains no fewer than nine long lists of sites to which access is to be limited and restricted entirely. At the top of one of the news related lists is the notorious reptilian conspiracy site from England, DavidIke.com. Now, we would not list ourselves among the ranks of believers in reptilian aliens controlling the world… but you just can’t help but wonder, why? Why would they block something that’s clearly nonsense? Frankly, if it weren’t for Google censorship, far fewer people would take sites like that as seriously as they do.

But the effects are much worse than getting people to consider ideas like the Flat Earth for two seconds instead of just one. When Google censors the news according to a political agenda, it shifts the landscape. It alters elections, ruins careers, companies, and reputations. It keeps people blind, not only to truths and good ideas, it also keeps people blind to the bad ideas held by their neighbors. It conceals dangerous groups in obscurity so that you cannot protect yourself from them.

When it comes to medical information, it stifles what could be the most important medical revolution since germ theory. There is so much information, supported by reams of valid research that shows cannabis, herbs, the sun, minerals and other natural homespun interventions can dramatically reduce the risk of cancer and other diseases.

And there’s good reason to believe that with lifestyle changes, natural treatments can sometimes even cure cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and more.

Imagine how much Google has done to retard the progress of these invaluable pieces of information. But worse yet, if Google and its sibling companies continue deleting information, the result could be disastrous. Imagine a, now, fringe cause that you have found well sourced and compelling. Maybe you have bookmarks to links that make up a strong scaffold of supporting evidence. Maybe you’ve been blogging in depth about it for months, logging stats, images, and other evidence. Then, suddenly one morning it’s all gone, leaving you alone with your ideas- silenced and undone.

That’s what a modern book burning looks like.
